- How are EIA applications assigned within the Department
Dedicated officials deal with EIA applications per municipal District, of which there are three, namely Nkangala District, Ehlanzeni District and Gert Sibande District
- Provincial Conservation or Biodiversity plan
The province has compiled a biodiversity conservation plan which covers the entire province at a high resolution. The plan can be obtained at www.mpu.agric.za.

- Provincial guidelines relevant to EIAs
The Province is using the national DEAT guidelines.
In addition, the Province is in the process of finalising an EIA appeals Manual and currently has a Minimum administrative requirements for EIA Applications guideline.
- Provincial Application forms relevant to EIAs
The Department uses the DEAT forms with minor adaptions.
